ENGAGEMENT

Different audiences.
One connected community.

From everyday moments on social media to employee communications, School Board updates and districtwide celebrations, I create communication experiences designed to keep people informed, connected and proud to be part of Mishawaka.

01 / SOCIAL MEDIA

Showing people what Mishawaka feels like.

Social media gives us the opportunity to tell the district’s story as it happens. I manage district-level social media with an emphasis on authentic photography, timely information and storytelling that gives families and the community a window into our schools.

From student accomplishments and classroom experiences to Future Cavemen traditions, staff recognition and district initiatives, the goal is to create content that feels human, reinforces our brand and celebrates the people who make Mishawaka special.

02 / WEEKLY WHAT'S UP

Connecting our employees.

Weekly What’s Up is a districtwide staff newsletter designed to make internal communication more useful, engaging and personal. Rather than simply distributing announcements, I developed it as a consistent place for employees to find district updates, celebrations, resources, opportunities and information that supports their work.

The publication combines practical information with employee recognition, school stories, wellness content and visual storytelling—helping staff stay connected not only to what is happening across the district, but to one another.

03 / SCHOOL BOARD SCOOP

Making complex information easier to understand.

School Board meetings contain important information, but agendas, supporting documents and meeting videos are not always the easiest way for families, employees and community members to understand what happened.

I created the School Board Scoop to turn meeting information into a clear, accessible recap—highlighting key decisions, presentations, recognitions and district updates in language designed for a broader audience.

04 / CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE

Creating connection beyond communication.

The Celebration of Excellence is an annual employee event designed to recognize the people behind the work and create an opportunity for employees from across the district to connect outside their everyday roles.

Since 2017, I have helped lead the planning and evolution of the event, developing experiences that keep the tradition fresh while maintaining its purpose: celebrating employees, strengthening relationships and creating a shared sense of belonging.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Engagement isn't one channel.

It is creating the right communication for the right audience—and giving people a reason to pay attention.

Different audiences. Different needs. One goal: create communication that informs, connects and builds community.
